Citizenship by Conferral - Residence Requirement not met
The Question of whether the applicant had a close and continuing association with Australia - Spouse and Father of an Australian Citizen,had annual visits and was actively searching for employment in Australia. AAT ruled that the reviewable decision be set aside set aside and remitted to the respondent with the direction that the applicant satisfies ss 22(9), 21(2)(c) and (g) of the Australian Citizenship Act 2007

The Australian Border Force (ABF) has shut down an elaborate contrived marriages syndicate operating out of Sydney. A 32-year-old Indian national faced court on 30 October over his alleged role as the main facilitator.
